Berlin-based songwriter JONNY GÖTZE releases his song in both German and English. Further releases are planned, which will then be performed by international artists in their native languages.

Biografie (Artist-Vita)

Berlin-based by choice, Jonny Götze (born in 1962) hails from North Rhine-Westphalia and grew up in Baden-Württemberg. He discovered his love for music early on and played his instruments entirely by ear—first the piano, later the guitar. There was no shortage of opportunities: his father was a Baptist pastor, and there was always some instrument lying around in the church halls. On the road to learning sheet music, the autodidact took a different turn and decided: music works just as well without notes.

Die Macht der Lieder As a teenager, he discovered the power of songs by giving expression to his feelings through his own compositions and lyrics. First love, the early death of his father, grief, joy and happiness, questions and answers, indecision and decisions — all of this found a place in his music, a depth, but also a sense of joy. From this, his personal motto emerged:

He draws his ideas from life and gives them back to life through his music. His listeners recognize themselves in his stories, as if they had written the lyrics themselves. Authentic and emotional. Filled with infectious joy and profound depth. His songs embrace the soul.

1999 with his song ‘YOU CAN BE A RAY OF HOPE’, he breathed life into the campaign Lichtblicke brought acoustic life to North Rhine-Westphalia. Over 10,000 CDs were sold within the first four weeks, with distribution carried out exclusively through the 45 local radio stations. 100% of the proceeds directly supported the fundraising initiative.

2016 He released his love song ‘I GIVE YOU THE WALTZ’, inspired by the occasion of his silver wedding anniversary with his wife Anke.

2018 his first solo album JETZT was created in collaboration with the exceptional musicians Anne de Wolff and Ulrich Rode at their BluHousestudio in Hamburg. The subsequent releases were also produced together with ‘Anne & Ulle.’

2019 This was followed by the single ‘I THINK I COULD BELIEVE’. A song that first came to life in 2013, in the context of his mother’s funeral.

2022 he released his EP ‘ORTE’

2023 his Christmas song ‘WHAT IF?’ was released and also published in English (‘How Would It Be?’). Further translations are planned, to be released by singers in their respective countries

2025 he released his latest single: A SMILE for the World. As with previous works, this song was also published in English. Further translations are planned, to be performed and released by international artists in their native languages

Personal & Professional Milestones

JONNY GÖTZE is married and the father of four adult children. His professional path has been marked by unusual transitions, such as moving from a specialized nurse in anesthesia and intensive care to the media industry. As a presenter, editor, and later program director (including at Berliner Rundfunk 91.4), he was for many years responsible for the editorial and organizational management of private radio stations in Austria and Germany.

Today, Johannes „Jonny“ Götze works as an independent coach, trainer, and consultant, supporting people on their personal and professional journeys. He primarily works with executives and their teams from the media and healthcare sectors, as well as in one-on-one coaching. As a keynote speaker, he regularly takes the stage at various conferences.

In Berlin, he fulfilled a dream and founded the KOMMCLUB. It embodies the vision of a space where creativity and communication complement and unfold in passionate dedication. A place where artists and audiences can meet and connect. In extraordinary venues and at inspiring locations, this idea comes to life time and again, enchanting its listeners.
